It's About Time...

I need to be better at posting. Life has been crazy the past month. On July 30th at 5:30 in the morning we closed up the moving truck, loaded the kids, and made the 1 hour drive north from Waxahachie to our new home in Little Elm, Texas. We had a couple of men from the ward come help us unload the truck at 8 am and it was done in about an hour. I don't know what people do that aren't members of the church. We've had an instant family each time we've moved and it's such a blessing.

We love our new place (minus a few minor things) and LOVE the area. We live in a nice neighborhood (that has a sidewalk, has a street that has 2 lanes that can fit 2 cars going in opposite directions at the same time, and feels safe to walk around). We also have a neighborhood pool! We've gone swimming the past two Family Home Evenings and the younger 2 kids are warming up to the pool. Lawson, on the other hand, LOVES swimming! We also have a 2 car garage and a fenced in backyard that has actual grass and not mounds of fire ant hills. It feels like life is really "starting" for us. :) We are still renting but feel like we're in a lot more "normal" situation. We are within walking distance from the elementary school so we have a playground nearby for the kids when the weather cools down a bit (it's been 100+ for about 40 days now).

Tyson's mom and grandma came 2 days after we moved in. I hadn't even really gotten a chance to even begin unpacking but it was a lot of fun to show them where we live and to show them around Dallas.

Four days after moving boxes into our house, I signed Lawson up for Pre-K that they have at the nearby elementary school and we left for the 3-day driving trip to Utah! I'm not sure why we can't ever move like normal people. When we got married we moved into a 4-plex house just a few days before Christmas. From there we moved to a duplex just days before our busy season started at my work (I was working at a wholesale floral place where we made flower arrangements for grocery stores and we moved at the very beginning of May, which is the beginning of a very busy month of Mother's Day and then Memorial Day. There were quite a few all-nighters pulled at work during that time). Our next move was to Waxahachie just 2 weeks after Porter was born and then this next move we decided to take a 2 week trip to Utah/Idaho just days after moving in. Maybe the next time around we'll be smarter and move when life isn't crazy!

We had a great time on our trip. I will do another post for that with pictures. Lawson started school this past Monday. He goes M-F from 7:50-10:50 and he LOVES it so much! He gets to eat breakfast at school (for free cuz we're poor! :)) I will also make another post about the first day of school.

So now we're (more like I'm) just trying to get boxes unpacked. Most of it is done and things are starting to get normal again. I've got lots of projects I want to get done soon to make our house more homey. I really dislike unpacking and finding places for everything but we have a garage now so extra stuff can go out there now! ;) Tyson's business partner and his family just moved here also- that's the main reason we decided to move up here (we were looking closer to Tyson's work). They commute together (the other main reason for moving near them) into Dallas most days so I'm able to have the car, which is SO nice- I can't even begin to explain! They live only 2 miles away and are in our ward. I really like his wife and our kids are similar ages. Life just feels really good right now!

Anyway, more posts to come soon (hopefully!)

Sara, it's nice to catch up on life! Glad your move went well! Can't wait to see pics of the new place. It was great to see you in Idaho a few weeks ago!
